Once-blue

The sun rages in its fury,
The days are getting longer,
The desert land grows ever larger.
The people's eyes
Were long blinded
By the brilliance of the sun.
The blisters on their skin
The parched lips
The ever thirsty throat.
The sun glows fiercely
In its final days
It burns out
And the world is covered in darkness.
A cold and a silence so deep
Settles over the little once-blue planet. The deserts turn to ice,
And we return to the beginning of time.

The words came to me in the middle of the night. Couldn't get up to pen anything down. And this is definitely not what was in my mind. The words are lost but I guess the gist is there.
